Configme

Overview

Configme is a web app that auto-generates configuration scripts for FTTH (Fiber To The Home) service setup over SSH. It removes the manual, error-prone work of writing configuration by hand, and tracks who configured what.

The challenge

Configuring FTTH services over SSH by hand was slow and easy to get wrong — and a single mistake could break a customer's connection. Configme had to generate correct scripts every time, across varied service scenarios, while keeping an audit trail of every change.

My role

• Built Configme end to end while working as a Network Engineer at Telkom Akses.
• Identified the pain point, then designed and shipped the tool for the team.

Approach

I encoded the configuration patterns into templates so the app produces a valid, ready-to-run script from a short form — and logged every generation against a user, turning an ad-hoc manual task into a repeatable, auditable one.

What I built

• Script auto-generation for FTTH service configuration in SSH.
• User activity tracking for every configuration action.
• A workflow that made service setup faster and more consistent for the team.

Recognition

Configme reached the Top 10 national-level innovations at PT Telkom Access, recognised for its effectiveness and efficiency.

Under the hood

• PHP / CodeIgniter + MySQL, with jQuery on the front end.
