Vira

Overview

Vira is a Telegram bot for inventory recording of new FTTH service installations. It talks to field users on Telegram like a chat bot and writes their input straight to the database — turning a messaging app the team already used into a data-entry tool.

The challenge

Field technicians needed to record materials for each new installation, but no one wanted another app to install and learn. Meeting them where they already were — inside Telegram — meant the "form" had to work as a natural conversation, validate messy real-world input, and never lose a record.

My role

• Designed and built Vira end to end at PT Telkom Akses.
• Built the conversational bot, the data model, and the web management side.

Approach

I modelled the data-entry as a guided Telegram conversation — each answer validated and persisted step by step — with a web back office to review and manage everything the bot captured.

What I built

• A Telegram bot that interacts with users conversationally.
• Inventory recording for new FTTH installations, saved to the database.
• A web side for viewing and managing the recorded data.

Recognition

Vira was recognised among the Top 10 Innovations at Telkom Access in September 2019.
